The Coastal Training Program provides training and technical assistance to individuals who are responsible for making decisions that affect coastal resources. Through this program, the Jobos Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve can ensure that coastal decision‐makers have the knowledge and tools they need to address critical resource management issues of concern to local communities.
The goal of the Coastal Training Program is better informed decision‐making by local and regional coastal decision‐makers to improve coastal stewardship.
Coastal Training Program Initiatives:
Provides workshops, seminars and hands-on field experiences.
Available to local officials and decision-makers for technical assistance.
Facilitates stakeholder meetings and networking opportunities for local community groups and efforts.
Assesses needs and markets the program to identify and improve critical training.
