LEARN AND DISCUSS HOW PUERTO RICO AND THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS ARE AFFECTED BY CLIMATE CHANGE AND HOW WE CAN RESPOND
Sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources and The Nature Conservancy, the 3rd Climate Change in the Caribbean Conference: Promoting Climate Resilience in Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands, is a FREE two-day virtual conference that will take place on April 19-20, 2022.
Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands have unique historical, geographic, ecological, social, and cultural dynamics. They face climate challenges that require science-based, locally-driven, culturally-informed solutions. This conference will gather leaders in government, business, society, and nonprofits to share insights, support, experiences, and solutions to the immediate and urgent challenges posed to island communities by climate change. Speakers will address the shared priorities to save lives, protect economies and the environment, and sustain livable communities, as well as measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build back better in a more sustainable, healthy, equitable and resilient way.
